Styling A Romper in Your 30s

So, what gal doesn't love a good romper/play-suit?!

Roses In Bloom

Something about fresh, blooming flowers just makes my soul happy. And Spring, my dear, you're starting to pull on my heartstrings... too bad southern Louisiana isn't feeling the same.

Rust Like The Sun

Have you guys ever had that color that just emanates who you are? Well, today I bring you the color of my summer soul. Okay it's the color of my Autumn soul too! Seriously I love this color. I find that it complements my skin tone very well and just makes me happy all around. The only color that could probably top it is mustard yellow. I was gifted this gorgeous romper from Tobi. If you haven't heard about this online shop then you are missing out. I spent days just going through their inventory and bookmarking lots of pieces to my favorites tab. The vibe of Tobi is California / bohemian cool. Most of the clothing read airy and light. While browsing their website, I kept thinking "If I was a rich girl..."

As I was browsing I came across this rust colored gem and just had to have it. My only concern was that it might be too short. I have that problem when it comes to rompers. I also wondered how well it was lined because the fabric looked very thin. But to my surprise it was very well lined. The color, the flared sleeves, down to the tiny buttons, every detail was absolutely perfect about it. I see many more summer days styling piece. A cool extra is that if you sign up for their email you can get 50% off your first order.

Have a great day friends!

Hello loves! So remember last week I told you guys that I cleaned out my closet, well here's another gem that I found. This one shoulder top from Old Navy is at least 7 years old. It's super cute and still fits! The best part is that it's trendy again. When I first bought this stop the one shoulder trend was gaining lots of momentum. I absolutely loved how simple and comfortable this top was, so I bought it. I've actually worn it on and off for the past few years, but now it's back on trend. I love when I keep items in my closet that I love without any regards to when they will be trendy again. Then when they do come full circle it's the best feeling. Anyways, since this top is rather old, I've linked a bunch of cute similar tops below so you dolls can get this look. Talk to you later!

Simply Blue

Dress: Old Navy (similar color) // Shoes: Converse, (old, similar) // Purse: Forever21 (similar) // Sunnies: Forever21 (similar) // Choker: Five Below (similar here and here) // Necklace: Francesca's (sold out) // Earrings: old, exact copy //  Bird Ring: Five Below // Watch: old, similar // Cuff: old, similar //

Hello loves. Today I have a new post for you featuring some not so new threads. This blue dress is one of the few sporty pieces I own. Most pieces I own are a mix of feminine, bohemian, and classic with a few staple pieces. If you follow me on Instagram, then you might have caught a small glimpse of me cleaning out my closet this past week. I mean I did a deep cleaning. I pulled everything out, dusted, vacuumed, and even caught the baseboards. I was so amazed at how much dust had collected in the crevices between the carpet and wall. I swear I'm not a huge fan of wall to wall carpeting, but this is a rental.  Anyhow, after I was done, my closet sure looked better. I think I'll do a separate post on my closet clean-out and organization tips, that way I can go over my entire process.

So while, I was doing that I found this piece in there. I hadn't worn it in over a year, but I remember I loved it so much. The reason I hadn't worn it in a year was that I had gained some weight. Last summer I wanted to wear this dress, but I put it on and saw that it was very ill fitting. I wasn't ready to part with it so I stuck it back in my closet. I was at my highest weight then, which was 150 lbs. This coming form a girl who normally weighed 136. So I had gained 14 lbs from my normal. I'm currently down to 141, since last summer. So I thought "why not try it on see if you still love it." I tried it and of course I loved it. It's such an easy piece and super comfortable. I swear I can always count on Old Navy for pieces like this. The best part part about this piece is that it can also be dressed up. Anyways, since this dress is an older piece, I linked some similar pieces below, although it was really hard to find similar pieces in this particular color.  I hope you all have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by.

Knowledge Is Power: Cougar Shoes Review

Top: Target // Jeans: Old, similar // Shoes: c/o Cougar Shoes // Bag: Sears // Rings: old // Earrings: Old // Watch: Wal-Mart (similar) / Cuff: old, similar

So today is all about the review. The review of these adorable rain sneakers from Cougar Shoes. I was contacted by the company to see if I would be interested in trying out a pair of their rain shoes from their Spring 2017 collection. To be honest, I had never heard of this company and thought it might be spam. So I did a little research to see what this brand was all about. They are a Canadian company whose motto is simply "Get Into Outside." And in this crazy social media, over connected, always plugged in world, I agree we need to do this more.

So I checked out their collection and was pretty amazed. Can I just say that the idea of a waterproof sneaker was amazing to me. I mean, not only do I get to be comfy, my feet don't have to get wet either. I chose the Swoon Rain Sneakers in Taupe. When I first received the shoes, I thought the design was very nice and clean. The packaging was amazing also. It had been raining the past few days, so I thought what a perfect time to take these pups out for a spin. They look very stylish and can be styled with any look. The neutral color I chose, is perfect for my ever changing wardrobe. Some key features of these shoes are:

1. Guaranteed Waterproof
2. The cushion soles are removable. Which is awesome if you want to wash your insoles or you
stand or walk a lot for your job (me)  and would like to add different insoles.
3. The inside lining is jersey, which reduces sweaty feet.
4. The soles are anti-slip. Perfect for clumsy old me.

I totally plan on using these shoes daily trips to the dog park, since it can get really messy, and lots of rainy day errands. Also I received this pair just in time for Louisiana's upcoming hurricane season (i.e. tons of rain). The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the color. I was expecting more of a nude taupe, but the true color was more of a brown taupe. Overall the shoes were amazing and I cannot wait to style them into my wardrobe more. So if you are looking for a functional, yet stylish pair of shoes to update your wardrobe, these shoes are for you. Also don't forget to check out all of the rain boots/shoes that Cougar has to offer.

P.S. . I get more compliments on this shirt than anything in my wardrobe recently. This was one of my fave programs growing up. I wholeheartedly believe knowledge is true power, be it in fashion, politics, or day to day life. Love you dolls!
