Hello loves. Today I have a new post for you featuring some not so new threads. This blue dress is one of the few sporty pieces I own. Most pieces I own are a mix of feminine, bohemian, and classic with a few staple pieces. If you follow me on Instagram, then you might have caught a small glimpse of me cleaning out my closet this past week. I mean I did a deep cleaning. I pulled everything out, dusted, vacuumed, and even caught the baseboards. I was so amazed at how much dust had collected in the crevices between the carpet and wall. I swear I'm not a huge fan of wall to wall carpeting, but this is a rental.  Anyhow, after I was done, my closet sure looked better. I think I'll do a separate post on my closet clean-out and organization tips, that way I can go over my entire process.

So while, I was doing that I found this piece in there. I hadn't worn it in over a year, but I remember I loved it so much. The reason I hadn't worn it in a year was that I had gained some weight. Last summer I wanted to wear this dress, but I put it on and saw that it was very ill fitting. I wasn't ready to part with it so I stuck it back in my closet. I was at my highest weight then, which was 150 lbs. This coming form a girl who normally weighed 136. So I had gained 14 lbs from my normal. I'm currently down to 141, since last summer. So I thought "why not try it on see if you still love it." I tried it and of course I loved it. It's such an easy piece and super comfortable. I swear I can always count on Old Navy for pieces like this. The best part part about this piece is that it can also be dressed up. Anyways, since this dress is an older piece, I linked some similar pieces below, although it was really hard to find similar pieces in this particular color.  I hope you all have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by.

Knowledge Is Power: Cougar Shoes Review

Top: Target // Jeans: Old, similar // Shoes: c/o Cougar Shoes // Bag: Sears // Rings: old // Earrings: Old // Watch: Wal-Mart (similar) / Cuff: old, similar

So today is all about the review. The review of these adorable rain sneakers from Cougar Shoes. I was contacted by the company to see if I would be interested in trying out a pair of their rain shoes from their Spring 2017 collection. To be honest, I had never heard of this company and thought it might be spam. So I did a little research to see what this brand was all about. They are a Canadian company whose motto is simply "Get Into Outside." And in this crazy social media, over connected, always plugged in world, I agree we need to do this more.

So I checked out their collection and was pretty amazed. Can I just say that the idea of a waterproof sneaker was amazing to me. I mean, not only do I get to be comfy, my feet don't have to get wet either. I chose the Swoon Rain Sneakers in Taupe. When I first received the shoes, I thought the design was very nice and clean. The packaging was amazing also. It had been raining the past few days, so I thought what a perfect time to take these pups out for a spin. They look very stylish and can be styled with any look. The neutral color I chose, is perfect for my ever changing wardrobe. Some key features of these shoes are:

1. Guaranteed Waterproof
2. The cushion soles are removable. Which is awesome if you want to wash your insoles or you
stand or walk a lot for your job (me)  and would like to add different insoles.
3. The inside lining is jersey, which reduces sweaty feet.
4. The soles are anti-slip. Perfect for clumsy old me.

I totally plan on using these shoes daily trips to the dog park, since it can get really messy, and lots of rainy day errands. Also I received this pair just in time for Louisiana's upcoming hurricane season (i.e. tons of rain). The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the color. I was expecting more of a nude taupe, but the true color was more of a brown taupe. Overall the shoes were amazing and I cannot wait to style them into my wardrobe more. So if you are looking for a functional, yet stylish pair of shoes to update your wardrobe, these shoes are for you. Also don't forget to check out all of the rain boots/shoes that Cougar has to offer.

P.S. . I get more compliments on this shirt than anything in my wardrobe recently. This was one of my fave programs growing up. I wholeheartedly believe knowledge is true power, be it in fashion, politics, or day to day life. Love you dolls!

Happy Halloween! I hope you all had a great weekend. Myself, not so much. If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, then you know I was involved in a car accident. I'm feeling fine for the most part, I;m just frustrated about my car, and people lack of attention to the road. I know we can all be in a hurry to get where we are going, but just that little extra attention could save your life and the lives of others. As for my car, I have to wait to hear back from the the insurance on whether my car is fixable or if they are going to total it out. I'm praying it can be fixed, just to avoid a car note. I just finished paying for this one last year, and a car note is just not in my budget. Anyways I'm trying to be grateful for the positives. My boyfriend and I are okay, no one was majorly hurt, and I can still sit here and continue this little blog of mine.

Now about this outfit. I've literally been living in jeans for the past few weeks and this outfit is no exception. Last weekend I found this amazing sweater at Forever 21. It's so soft and comfortable that all I want to do is live in it and it was only $25. I'm tempted to run back and buy another just for backup! I rarely find more that one or two items in a trip, but every trip I've made over the past few weeks has surprised me. I picked up this bag which was not only on sale, but I buy one get one free. So, I picked up this gem and a black saddle bag for  a total of $11. The boots were also a steal at $15.  If you dolls get the chance, stop by Forever 21 and see what good deals they have, you may be surprised also. Anyhow, I hope you all have a great week ahead. Thanks for stopping by.

A Date at Carpe Diem

Top: Rue21 (old, similar here & here) // Jeans: Gap, Thrifted (similar)  // Shoes: Icings (old, cute option) // Purse: Wal-Mart (love these too 1 & 2) // Belt: Claire's (old, similar) // Earrings: Rite Aid (similar here & here) // Necklace: Claire's (old, similar) // Bracelet: Old, similar // Cuff: Wal-Mart (similar)

Hello loves! So this past Thursday, I had a pre-weekend date. We strolled downtown Lafayette and took a mini coffee break at Carpe Diem. It's this really lovely coffee shop. The atmosphere reminds me of one of the cute Parisian cafes you see in the movies. I have a small picture on my Instagram of  the cuteness that is this coffee shop. I had the prosciutto croissant and it was amazing. If you are ever in downtown Lafayette you should stop by. Also, can we talk about how I've given in to the tassel trend. I mean, I always liked tassels, but I always thought home decor when I imagined them. Tassels are actually pretty big this summer and these earrings were a last minute/ impulse purchase, but I absolutely adore them. Now I feel like a real southern blogger (LOL!) Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Fri-Yay!!!! What better way to end this week's blog posts and welcome the weekend than with a great casual weekend look. I wore this outfit while running around last Sunday. Honestly, it was the most comfortable thing. And how cute are these pineapple earrings? They were only $1. Also, I didn't realize it until I was typing this post, that all the items I'm wearing are from Wal-Mart (with the exception of the jacket). Sometimes I find my self doing that without the intention of doing it. By no means is this a sponsored post. I just find a lot of stuff there. Anyways Happy Weekend loves!
