Happy Wednesday! I wore this cute top that I got a while back, to the dog park with Marley. I love the little lace detail on the trim of the top. It gives a feminine/ bohemian vibe to the casual "jeans and  a tank" outfit. Sorry I couldn't link a similar top to this one. I hope you all have a good day and I'll talk to you later.

Hello dear readers. I know it's been almost a month since I last posted. A lot has been going on. The number one thing is that I'm on the lookout for a a new job, because that's what you gotta do when your store is closing. Yes, the store is closing and it wasn't a big shock. I guess you could say that it was inevitable. I guess, I just didn't think it would be this soon. We were told on May 2nd and it was like a jab to the heart. It makes me feel as if every ounce of work I had poured into this store for the past 3 years were of no value. And I understand why we're closing. It's hard to be competitive when you're located in a mostly abandoned shopping center and a sparkly new one has just gone up right across the street, not to mention that we are surrounded by six other pharmacies.

So as today is my birthday, marking me yet another year older, I'm going to look back on the past three years and learn. Maybe my store closing is the kick in the pants that I needed to set me off on my true career path. I mean when I first came to this store, I was trying to find a management job (for full time hours) while still in school, since I was only seasonal at my previous job and had been let go. At the time it was a saving grace, because this girl needed to pay bills. My intention was to stay until about six months after I graduated. I never intended to be there this long, and now were closing, on my 3 year anniversary no less. I've gotten to know the regulars and I honestly am going to miss them. As we are letting our customers know whats going on, they all seem so saddened by it. I have regulars exclaiming, "I'm going to miss you girls" and "what am I going to do without seeing you guys everyday." We literally have customers that just come to talk to us and barely ever buy anything.

In all honesty, these past few years have been rough on me. Not just financially, but emotionally. From losing a promising career, to losing something you though would last a lifetime, it's been a roller-coaster ride. But as I look at the present, I have to be truly grateful. I have good health, people who love me, a pup I adore, and a certain someone whom cares deeply (although I wanna strangle him sometimes, LOL). I have to just look at this as another chapter in my life that must close. I must embark on a new one. I hope you all didn't mind this long post, I just wanted to share why I haven't really been blogging lately. Have a lovely day dolls!

Sometimes the best days are the days when there's nothing to do and and nothing to see, but to just float along. This day was one of those days. I typically shoot outfit photos on my days off and this day was no exception. It happened to be the Monday after the Festival de International. Unlike most Mondays, I didn't have any errands to run, no laundry to do, just to breath. After shooting, the BF and I went to a friend's house and we spent the evening talking politics, civil rights, and a few 1980s San Francisco club scene stories. It was so refreshing to be around people other than my co-workers and customers.

These photos were shot in downtown Lafayette, after working hours. The streets were calm and taking pictures was a dream. I get a little nervous when I see people staring. The picture that shows DISCO is actually the windows of the Lafayette Science Museum and they continue to spell out the word DISCOVERY.  The cool thing about these windows are that the lights change colors so the windows reflect that color.  Anyhow I hope you all enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by.

Cupcakes, Champagne, and Dreams

Sweatshirt: Charlotte Russe // Jeans: Gap, thrifted (similar) // Sneakers: Wal-Mart (similar) // Bag: Wal-Mart (similar here and here) // Scarf: Coach (old) // Watch and Bracelet set: Wal-Mart (in store) // Necklace: Claire's (old) // Earrings: Wal-Mart (similar) // Lips: Revlon in Mink / NYX Butter Gloss in Vanilla Creme Pie

Isn't it great when an outfit comes together. I'm loving this sweatshirt I picked up on sale from Charlotte Russe a few weeks ago! I mean it describes me perfectly, well maybe not the cupcakes. I don't have a huge sweet-tooth, and I only eat cake or cupcakes without icing. I know some people think its weird, but I think icing is too sweet. My dad and I are the same. I like more tart/tangy flavored foods.

Anyways, I wasn't really looking for a sweatshirt in particular. I was browsing the sales racks, saw it and had to have it. I love that this entire outfit, accessories included (minus the scarf) is under $50. Yes, you can have a stylish outfit under $50. The scarf was given to me as a gift. It definitely dresses up my $10 tote. Now, I can't wait to put beautiful flowers in it.. I mean what's the point of having a tote and not putting a bouquet in it?! The jeans were thrifted. They are the Gap 1969 skinny jeans. This pair looked brand new when I picked them off the rack. I cut slits at the knees because I've been wanting a pair that have knee slits. I got another pair of the 1969 jeans in black. They are high-waisted. I love finding quality jeans for cheap! What about you guys? Do you have any great thrifted finds? I would love to hear about them. Hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Fri-Yay!!!! What better way to end this week's blog posts and welcome the weekend than with a great casual weekend look. I wore this outfit while running around last Sunday. Honestly, it was the most comfortable thing. And how cute are these pineapple earrings? They were only $1. Also, I didn't realize it until I was typing this post, that all the items I'm wearing are from Wal-Mart (with the exception of the jacket). Sometimes I find my self doing that without the intention of doing it. By no means is this a sponsored post. I just find a lot of stuff there. Anyways Happy Weekend loves!
